Eugene Calabria began his career at GBS in 1983 upon graduating from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a dual minor in marketing and economics. Upon graduating from YSU, Eugene was hired at GBS to promote the first generation of PC computers. For three consecutive years, Eugene achieved top honors as “Salesman of the Year” becoming the first to achieve “Millionaire’s Club” status where he was consistently recognized as the top revenue producer among 225 sales reps and a network of 75 resellers.
In 1985, Eugene was appointed to establish a Healthcare division at GBS. Today, GBS Healthcare is the largest and fastest growing division of the company and is one the largest value added resellers of healthcare systems in the region. GBS Healthcare delivers innovative technology solutions including electronic health records, patient accounting, medical billing, revenue cycle and practice management services to hospitals, clinics and practices spanning 42 states.
In 2001, Eugene was appointed to President of the GBS Computer/Technology Division where he spent several years building a strong management team. Upon experiencing several consecutive years of profitable sales growth, Eugene was promoted in 2005 to President/CEO of GBS Corp. Today, GBS is a multi-faceted information management company that provides a full range of technology solutions including hardware/software, network design, content management, commercial printing, and digital marketing. GBS is a family of 4 divisions, over 400 employees and nearly $100 million in annual sales.
Eugene acknowledges the handiwork of God in all that has been accomplished in his career and within GBS Corp. (Ephesians 2:8-10). He is thankful for the support of a strong leadership and “employee owners” (ESOP) who are its most valuable asset. GBS is dedicated to raising marketplace leaders, equipped as agents of transformation in order to bring lasting change, and connect them with a spiritual purpose and power to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).
