Johnny will speak openly about a personal tragedy that redesigned his views on how to be a husband, father and business leader. He is a believer in “making our mess, our message” and is thankful for the presence of God’s grace through it all.
Bio: John is a 1984 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, a 1988 graduate of Miami University with a degree in accounting and a special interest in psychology and finance, and a 2000 graduate of the University of Phoenix with a master’s in organization management.
Professionally, John has been president of Camping World, a 120-store, nationwide retail chain serving the RV industry, and was promoted in 2012 to chief business development officer for the parent company, Camping World and Good Sam. Prior to Camping World, John was owner of Sirpilla RV Center in Akron, OH and the recipient of the National RV Dealer of the Year Award. John is also a partner at Laura of Pembroke, an interior design and women’s clothing business, and has various holdings in senior living communities, entertainment and event space, and brand development.
John speaks professionally to businesses, communities and universities on the importance of managing thoughts, leading yourself to productive choices, and framing each challenge in your life as an opportunity for development and growth. John has served as the chairman of the board for the United Way of Greater Stark County, on the school board at Canton Country Day School and also served as treasurer and an executive committee member.
He is a member at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where he has been a youth minister for the Life Teen Ministry, and chaired the 2014 capital campaign. John is currently a board member and executive committee member for the Aultman Health Foundation and Aultman Hospital.He also served on the board for Quest Recovery Services, Mt. Union College Advisory Board, and many other civic and charity organizations. John received the Jackson Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen of the Year for 2003.
John is married to his college sweetheart, Susan, has three children, Beau, Isabella and Stone; and lived in Canton, OH.
